The City of Pittsburgh is comprised of 90 distinct and historically inviting neighborhoods. There are also many suburban townships and municipalities surrounding Pittsburgh, making up the greater Pittsburgh area. During its prime, Pittsburgh was known as a city of rich industrialists and a hardened working class. After the collapse of it's steel industry, Pittsburgh experienced a significant depression. The city has spent the last several decades reinventing itself and diversifying its economy with new and thriving industries like health care and tech. Throw in major league sports teams to cheer on, a thriving cultural and entertainment market, and world-class universities and it should be no surprise that Pittsburgh has earned the distinction of being one of the USA's most livable cities.
